Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology was established in 1988. The objective of our department is to mould future Zoologists and fisheries professionals. Our students are provided with maximum practical and field exposure to make them competent enough in the field of Zoology & Fisheries Biology. Besides, we insist on discipline in our students to make them responsible citizens. The Department is supported by DST-FIST and has already completed 3 minor research projects under the financial support of UGC. The Department has a well-established Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratories, Practical Labs, Zoology Museum and an Ornamental Fish Hatchery Unit.
