Student Support Program
As a part of New Initiatives by the Department of Collegiate Education, St. Aloysius College, Edathua has started Scholar Support Programme from the academic year 2014-2015. The candidates are selected from the first semester of the Under Graduate Programme. The programme offers personalized additional instructional sessions of 70 hours in Semesters 1 to support 40 academically backward students. Funds are allotted to colleges for the implementation of the Programme for 40 selected students of the College. External Mentoring sessions of 60 hours were conducted. The Programme for 2018-19 is to be completed by March 2019 as per the Guidelines issued in this regard. Internal classes are to be engaged by the faculty of the College itself. The Programme should have a college level coordinator.
The College Council should function as a Monitoring Committee for the Programme. As per the instruction of the Academic council, the classes were arranged in the department of English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Commerce. The classes can be conducted at Saturdays/ holidays/ special timetable on working days by considering the convenience of the participants and faculties. Stationery Items were distributed and proper documentation were maintained for the future reference. It was really helping hand for weaker students for the exam preparations.
