Government Scholarships

The Government of Kerala has introduced various scholarships for meritorious students as well as to the students of socially and economically backward categories. The Higher Education Department of Government of Kerala is entrusted with the responsibility of the disbursement of various scholarships to the students. The College encourage students to apply for these government scholarships in time.
 
Following are the scholarship/ schemes that the students can avail during their period of study. Please refer the Government websites for detailed information.

Scholarship Name Details*
Egrants
  • Students who belong to the categories of Scheduled castes, Other Eligible Communities, OBCs and other communities who are socially and economically backward including forward castes
  • Students whose attendance is not below 75% at the end of each month
Central Sector Scholarship
  • Parental income both Father and Mother should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs per annum
  • Applicant should not be availing any other scholarships/ Financial Assistance
  • Applicants should not be belonging to the Creamy-layer
Post Metric Scholarship
  • To students of Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
  • Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying Examination.
  • The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship
  • Should belong to BPL family.
  • Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship
  • Should belong to Muslim, Latin Catholic, Converted Christian community and should be a native of Kerala.
  • Should be a GIRL student studying for the first year of Graduation
  • Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
  • Family Annual income should not exceed 6 Lakhs.
State Merit Scholarship
  • Should be a first-year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate Programme.
  • Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
  • Family annual income should not exceed 1 Lakh. 
Blind/PH Scholarship
  • Blind/PH/Deaf students studying in Govt/Aided Arts and Science Colleges
  • Fee Charges for Blind students with family annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs
  • Hostel charges for all PH students who are hostellers and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.5 lakhs/-
  • Boarding charges for all PH students who are day scholars and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.5 lakhs
Snehapoorvam Scholarship
  • Children who have lost either father or mother or both.
  • Children who belong to BPL category.
  • For children belonging to APL category, annual income should be below Rs. 20,000 in rural areas (Local body / Grama Panchayat) and Rs. 22,375 in urban areas (Corporation / Municipality).
Fishermen Scholarship
  • Instituted by the Department of Fisheries for the children of fishermen
  • Pass With 50% and above marks in qualifying examination
  • Annual income below 1 Lakh 
  • Student name must be included in the Ration Card
